Cellar360's Efforts

The owners of Cellar360, the Foster's Group installed new solar panels at four of their wineries, the largest of any winery in the United States, which are expected to eliminate 2 million pounds of CO2 emissions per year.

Perhaps most impressive are the actions Foster’s Group have taken to improve its energy efficiency. Within the business, Foster’s has:

  • Built anaerobic effluent treatment plants to convert organic wastes into biogas
  • Installed a new energy efficient brewhouse using heat recovery to reduce thermal energy consumption
  • Substituted biodiesel for part of the diesel mix in viticultural operations
  • Subscribed to an emissions offset scheme by Greenfleet, which plants 35,000 native trees per year to offset carbon emission that Foster’s staff generate by driving and flying for work
