Ghirardelli Goes Green

In August 2008, Ghirardelli Square kicked off its recycling and composting program during “Ghirardelli Goes Green.” Vendors at the event shared information with attendees on how to green their lives. The event also featured a chef demonstration sustainable cooking class at Cellar360, which showed creative combinations using local and sustainable ingredients from farmer’s markets.

Ghirardelli Square recognizes we all have a responsibility to help out the environment and is doing its part to become more environmentally friendly. The square continues to make strides toward greater sustainability and keeping its carbon footprint at a minimum, by minimizing its waste and maximizing its energy efficiency.
